cellTRAY CT-2301 in Dish

Nanopoint's cellTRAY is a micro-scale cell containment device that creates new standards of precision and levels of efficiency for the study of live cells. The cellTRAY provides for the isolation of cells into individual micro-wells, allowing researchers to observe very small groups of cells throughout an experiment. Ten regions on the cellTRAY can be individually addressed by the microfluidics delivery system, allowing different reagents to be easily administered to each region. Each cellTRAY is packaged in a cellTRAY Dish, a unique, fully autoclavable custom holder that enables easy loading, incubation, and cell culturing.

The cellTRAY Model CT-2300 contains 112 wells and the cellTRAY Model CT-2301 contains 1120 wells. Both versions are currently available for use with the CT-2000 Live Cell Imaging System. To learn more about the cellTRAY, visit the cellTRAY section of our website.

Advanced Microfluidics Capabilities

cellTRAY Microfluidics Controller - actively flow media into 10 parallel channels concurrently or in serial

The microfluidics controller has a very small footprint with its vertically-oriented syringe pumps. Fluid is regulated by syringe pumps that lead to and from a fluid reservoir and waste bottle. Of the 14 regions on the cellTRAY, ten can be individually addressed, allowing different reagents to be administered at each port. Two of the pumps are split to address five regions each on the cellTRAY (dispense pumps), and two pumps are used to withdraw fluid, addressing five regions each, so a total of 10 regions on the CT-2000 are utilized. The remaining 4 regions act as buffers. The syringe pumps are capable of a variety of flow rates, configurable by the user, with a flow resolution of 20nL/sec. The volume of fluid in a single syringe will cover a four hour experiment, although the volume is automatically replaced from the reservoir, extending the experimental time to overnight.

Environmental Control Chamber

cellTRAY Manifold - on-microscope environmental control including CO2, temperature, and media exchange

The cellTRAY sits on the stage-mounted miniature incubator, also known as the manifold, which attaches to the included Prior scanning stage. The manifold sits over the cellTRAY while leaving the 14 regions visible from the top.

  • Integrated temperature control for ranges between 20°C and 40°C
  • Conditioned CO2 inflow port
  • Hinged class cover to minimize contamination and allow easy access to cellTRAY
  • Can be mounted on any inverted microscope with a standard wellplate holder

CCD Camera

Also included is a scientific-grade camera for high-resolution documentation and image archiving. This 1.4 megapixel CCD digital camera provides versatile solutions for life science and clinical professionals working under low light conditions. With a resolution of 1392 x 1040 pixels and on-board processing, these cameras deliver outstanding image quality for a wide variety of scientific applications.

Nanopoint's cooled monochrome CCD camera is ideal in low-light conditions where high dynamic range is required, and is suited to fluorescence-based applications such as cell viability, apoptosis, gene expression, and cell signaling studies.

Nanopoint's cellTRAY Life Support Manager is a custom application which regulates the flow of fluids through control of syringe pumps. This software allows researchers to feed cells up to 10 parallel, isolated regions, and administer multiple reagents in specific doses. Advanced, configurable flow modes are also supported, allowing customization of flow rates and sequenced delivery. The cellTRAY Life Support Manager also monitors and regulates temperature control of the system.
